Why Xtra-Space decided to join

Xtraspace are proud members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, to enable us to promote best practice in the construction sector.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non- profit making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image.

This is designed to "Safeguard " the client and is used to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.

Xtraspace believes its important to maintain our high level of standards  so joined the CCS at the beginning of 2015. Since the scheme started in 1997 it has over 90,000 sites and ore than 1,000  companies have joined.

The 5 main aspects contractors are monitored on are:

  • Appearance
  • Respect of the Community
  • Protection of the environment
  • Securing Safety
  • Value of their workforce and workmanship.

We believe this has brought us considerable benefits as we have a nationally recognised membership, we have gained a competitive edge with prospective clients by demonstrating a commitment to high standards. Xtraspace are listed on the schemes website for registered companies and suppliers. Our sites are independently assessed by experienced professionals who will advise and guide as well as benchmark performance and strive for development and improvement. The scheme also offers the change to be viewed by planning authorities as well as opportunity to gain awards on your site assesment.

If your looking at any scale of construction work, make sure you ask whether they are a member of the considerate constructors scheme, as the scheme is open to all construction sites, companies and suppliers of all types and sizes and for every type of construction activity.
